I used to use it to tell people the stories we'd exchange if I saw them more often, but since LJ got so quiet it's going to shift more to being just a personal record. Sad, but true. Regardless, the LJ isn't filled with personal angst or things that might appear on ljdrama. I don't bother with pretty layouts, or lots of tags. In short, I am lazy, but having an audience of sorts means that this is a diary I have kept for 10 years. 10 days used to be a record when I was a kid.
My posts are likely to be slightly family-focused, although I am back at work now, so you could also get work rants. We also own a house and I like to cook, so there will be mindnumbingly boring domestic trivia and the odd recipe. I cut-tag some of it. Less now that LJ is emptier.
I occasionally post political comments, when I feel the urge.
I'm a research editor, so there may be rants about matters workgeeky. I do not proof my journal, so cut the sarky comments in the back there.
I post most things friends-only, to prevent work/home clashes.
I doubt anyone still gets insulted by nonreciprocal friending ;)
